Living in the Now
In understanding how to live in the “Now” you must learn how to understand how time works and how God has fully designed it for your life and own good.
Time concepts are abstract constructs that man uses to understand time. These paradigms pertain to concepts such as simultaneity and duration as well as physical and psychological time developmental progress. Unlike animals, which are generally perceived as eternally living in the “present” without comprehension of time aspects, such as past and present, man has the ability to compartmentalize experiences and phenomenon into categories.
Human beings are made in such a special way. They are higher than the animals and a little lower than the angels. However, with all the vastness and greatness of the world, the Lord is mindful of us. We have the ability to discern and to use time to our power.
The purpose of God for how we are created can reveal a little something as to why we are created the way we are, different from all other animals. We have created to be like gods. God placed us in charge of the world he created in the sky, the waters, and the earth.
Man could compartmentalize within the general notion of the “time stream”: physical developments can be defined as “happened,” “happening,” or “will happen.” The following discussions elaborate on time concepts generally used by most individuals.
“Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.” Carl Sandburg
