GROWING YOUR PROPHETIC GIFT

In every area of life, feedback from others is fundamentally needed to help us grow and develop our gifts and skills. There is a saying that goes, “Feedback is the breakfast of champions!” This is also true concerning our spiritual gifts of prophecy and discernment. At the end of the day, if we don’t know how to improve and sharpen our spiritual gifts — and the manner in which we use them — we will not reach our truest potential. It’s not that we are the source of these gifts, but it is that we’re the stewards of these gifts that we seek to grow them.

Feedback is important because when we recognize and acknowledge our blind spots, we are able to address them. We can never identify our own blind spots. Moreover, we also learn from the wisdom of others who are already ahead of us on the journey. Our ability to communicate clearly to others what God has spoken to us is sharpened when we receive feedback from elder prophets. Moreover, Godly feedback provides confirmation of our prophetic insight, which benefits us and those to whom we are ministering.

Through feedback, we can assess the degree to which the ministry is helpful. You can also ensure that there is no gap — or misunderstanding — between what you have heard from God (regarding His heart and purposes for a person or for a situation), and what the person has actually received and understood through your prophetic word.

Ministry feedback can come from the following people:

  • A person you share a prophetic insight with;
  • A leader, pastor, or spiritual overseer in the situation you are ministering in;
  • A mentor or fellow team member.

THE POWER OF THE MOMENT WELL

Power of moment! The moment you stop expecting more of life, is the moment life starts looking around for other and better outlets. The only thing that can restrict life’s expression is the channel through which it works. So, stop dancing with limitations.

Two people have different attitudes to blessings. Being expectant and being entitled are two different things.

Being expectant of blessings make you a channel for blessing. You are ready to flow in the power of moment. On the other hand, being entitled to blessings make you a bucket ready to receive a blessing, but with a limit to what you can receive in the power of the moment. Being entitled to the blessing is born out of pride.

You don’t deserve blessings. Even if you give everything you have, you can never earn a single blessing from your Creator. But, because you know that God is good, you can be expectant by the power of the moment. You can rely on God’s goodness and faithfulness that God’s blessing is coming. When you have a heart that is sustained by faith in the Lord, then the blessings will flow.

Speak It

Don’t suppress the Spirit, and don’t stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don’t be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what’s good. Throw out anything tainted with evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22

God knows what you want to receive from your future. You don’t need to ask. But the Bible tells us to. Why? If God knows already, why do we need to declare these things in our lives? It is because God wants us to experience the privilege of asking the God of the Universe and the joy of receiving what we have asked for.

There is power with speaking things into the universe. It means we believe in them. When we claim God’s blessings, we receive them. Moreover, we do not take for granted the blessings we receive because we knew we specifically asked for these things.

The Bible tells us that when we prophesy that we will receive what we want by asking God, then we are able to see them come to pass. The passage shows that need for us to be direct. There is no need for us to go around in circles. We need to come to the point wherein we know that God would hear us and that He is willing to address our needs. Moreover, we need to come to the point wherein there is boldness to ask God because it means we have already accepted our place as His adopted children.

Living in the Now

In understanding how to live in the “Now” you must learn how to understand how time works and how God has fully designed it for your life and own good.

Time concepts are abstract constructs that man uses to understand time. These paradigms pertain to concepts such as simultaneity and duration as well as physical and psychological time developmental progress. Unlike animals, which are generally perceived as eternally living in the “present” without comprehension of time aspects, such as past and present, man has the ability to compartmentalize experiences and phenomenon into categories.

Human beings are made in such a special way. They are higher than the animals and a little lower than the angels. However, with all the vastness and greatness of the world, the Lord is mindful of us. We have the ability to discern and to use time to our power.

The purpose of God for how we are created can reveal a little something as to why we are created the way we are, different from all other animals. We have created to be like gods. God placed us in charge of the world he created in the sky, the waters, and the earth.

Man could compartmentalize within the general notion of the “time stream”: physical developments can be defined as “happened,” “happening,” or “will happen.” The following discussions elaborate on time concepts generally used by most individuals.

A Part of You

When we do something repeatedly it starts to become a part of who we are. If you consistently stick with a certain task. When we do something repeatedly it starts to become a part of who we are. If you consistently stick with a certain task so much so that it becomes almost automatic to you, then you have turned that act into a habit.   It is important to create good habits and practice them. Your daily actions and decisions determine the direction your life is heading towards. The power of prophecy allows you to get prophetic direction by giving you guidance through God’s words.

On the other hand if you do a good deed today but continue your bad habits tomorrow, then your single good trait cannot count as a habit. You must be committed to the habits of the kind of person you want to be. If you feel like doing behaving yourself for a day, let us say for example you choose to wake up early for that day, do not just leave it at that. Make good habits something you do everyday. In this way you will be honing the traits that lead you to excellence.

Changing Your Mindset

Worrying is an activity most of us waste our time on, but if we dispelled the urge to do so, we could be much closer to your goals in life. We worry because we think of the worst possible scenarios while we wait for the results. Some people like to think that way in order to avoid disappointment. That kind of thinking actually sets you up for disappointment. You must lead your thoughts into positive outcomes to lead your actions there more naturally. Instead of wasting precious time anticipating and assuming the worst, actively lead your destiny into success through actions. Positive energy is a powerful tool towards growth. When you develop a strong positive mindset nothing can get in your way. God Wants to Give You Freedom

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36 NIV).

The world defines freedom as a life without any restraint—“Do anything I want to do; say anything I want to say, without anybody telling me ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’” Like the song “My Way”: “Everybody got burned by me, but I did it my way!” “I left five marriages behind but I did it my way!” Total selfishness! “I had my freedom!” Yet, the Bible says the only way to true freedom is through Jesus: “If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free” (John 8:36 TEV).

Real freedom is freedom from fear, where you’re truly free from guilt, from worry, from bitterness, and from death. You’re free to quit pretending because you’re free to be yourself.

How do you get rid of those kinds of fears? By letting God love you! The apostle John teaches that, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18 NIV).

When you realize how much God loves you, you’ll begin to live in true freedom. In fact, you worship God when you recognize that “God is love.” It is an act of worship to agree that he is a loving, caring, generous God and that we can “rely on the love God has for us” (1 John 4:16 NIV).

Being Positive in Spite of Your Problems

“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of  anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way” (James 1:2–4 MSG).

So you think you’ve got problems? Consider Brian Hise: He had more than his share of bad luck a few years ago in July. When his apartment in Provo, Utah, became flooded from a broken pipe in the apartment above his, the manager told him to go out and rent a wet/dry vacuum.

That’s when Brian discovered that his car had a flat tire. He changed the tire and went inside again to phone a friend for help. But the electric shock he got from the phone so startled him that he inadvertently ripped the instrument off the wall! Before he could leave his apartment a second time, a neighbor had to kick his door down because by now water damage had jammed it too tight to open.

While all this was going on, someone stole Brian’s car! But since it was almost out of gas, Brian found it just a few blocks away. He then had to push it to a gas station where he filled up the tank.

That evening Brian attended a military ceremony at the university he was attending. He injured himself severely when he somehow sat on his bayonet, which had been tossed in the front seat of his car!

Doctors were able to stitch up Brian’s wound but, in the meantime, no one was able to resuscitate four of his canaries who were crushed to death from the wet, falling plaster in his apartment. He discovered their deaths after arriving home and then slipping on the wet carpet in his apartment, badly injuring his tailbone.

Brian said he began to wonder if (and I quote), “God wanted me dead, but just kept missing!”

The Bible says, “Is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems.

For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete” (James 1:2–4 LB).

Obeying His Word

1The bible has presented us about the things that God desires as well as the things that He dislikes. The bible must be taken seriously as it is meant to talk to us. The bible has offered us ways on how to live our life righteously, which are all according to God’s will. God’s teachings and commandments do not only talk about your friends, neighbor, family, but it always talks about you.

Do not just be hearers where you will just focus and pay attention to God’s words but be doers as well. God wants you to obey what are written in the bible. You have to know and understand God’s words by heart and do what He is asking you to do.

You have to apply His teachings in your life. He has stated in the bible things like how to serve and love Him, how to obey our parents, and how to have a positive relationship with other people. You must obey these words by evidently applying it in our life.

You will be more blessed by God if you know how to obey His words. Never forget to love yourself and love others. Be always willing to share your love with other people most especially to those who do not seem to feel this before. Fill in the emptiness in their hearts. Make them feel that they have a part in this world.

Make them feel a sense of belongingness. Nurture them with your love and care. Most importantly, you have to love God. He deserves our love.

As it was written in the Scriptures, “Love God with your heart, with your soul, with your strength, and your mind.” God desires us to love like this. Hence, we must consider this as our main responsibility in life. Make God as your number one priority in your life.

Love is a wonderful feeling any person could ever experience. With this, everything may seem right; everything may appear to be perfect. Be always ready to love and receive love. Be always willing to let someone experience its magic. The power of prophecy can help you experience this kind of love.

Problems Reaching Your Goals?

When you are trying to learn something new, write down your goals as you start. Write down the things that you want to accomplish. By writing down your goals, you know by yourself that you are going to accomplish something on the things that you do right now.

Learning a new skill may take more or less time, it depends on the process and how fast you can cope up on the things that you are learning. It is important that you track your growth and progress to be able to recognize that you are moving from one phase to another. So when things get hard, you can look back and see the things that you have accomplished.

To be able to make it more productive, you can write down your goals, the things that challenged you while you are studying and trying to learn on something. You can also write your achievements on a daily or weekly basis, to be able to see on how productive you are.
