What does the faith of a child look like?

Strictly speaking, this attitude does not come naturally to adults. In contrast, this is the natural attitude of a young child. For example, a child might throw jewelry or money out of a window because the child has not yet learned to put a value on material things. Their sense of value is love, which is the love they have for their parents and the parents’ love for the child.

That is the child’s natural understanding of supply, which the child simply knows. As long as love is present between child and parent, then providing the child with their daily food, clothing, and shelter are natural results of such love.

Therefore, love is a child’s natural sense of supply. Only as the child grows older do they lose this sense of love, with their sense of supply changing to match the expectations of a capitalistic consumer society.

So, what’s the antidote? Clearly, we have to return to the same childlike trust we had in childhood. Jesus Christ told his disciples, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mt. 18:3).

We must return to a point where we no longer rely on monetary value for our supply but begin to understand that love, consciousness, and spirituality is our true supply. We must understand that as long as love is present, we shall have all things added unto us (Mt. 6:33).

This is the first step in the unfoldment and revelation of God-consciousness, which appears as love and abundance, meeting our human needs.

Changing Your Idea of Supply

One practice you can perform at the start is that every time you handle money, you consciously remember that it is not true supply, but that it is simply the effect of the presence of love. Financial wealth is the effect of the presence of God appearing as your spiritual consciousness.

Gradually, you will develop an attitude recognizing that money is not the reality of your supply.

The value is not in dollars and cents. The value, says Goldsmith, is in our consciousness, which is the substance, the form, the principle, and the law unto the material wealth presented to our senses. As long as you exist, and as long as you understand that God consciousness is in you, then your supply with forever be unending and infinite.
