A righteous God can dwell in a sinful man

²⁷ As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him. (1 John 2:27)

In the passage above, John tells us here that the anointing that they received did not leave! It did not “come upon” and then “leave” from them again and again. Instead of pushing through with their own pure will power, they had a Helper in their corner — the Holy Spirit. For the first time ever, a righteous God can dwell in a sinful man, because he was cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, who takes away man’s sin.
