The Secret of Giving
Matthew 6:2-4
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
How we handle our blessings is very important as it reflects how good our hearts are. We may need to hear some biblical prophecies that can help us nourish and spread the blessings that we have in life. Prophetic words will definitely uplift our spirit and be more grateful on life and on what God has given us. These will guide us as we look for ways on how to honor God’s commandment to give from what we have been given.
Giving should not expect something in return. We have been commanded by God to give freely and not expect anything in return as well as not look for approval and honor from others. We should also keep giving a secret. We may have given a lot to others but it is definitely better to not spread the deeds that u did as you will be rewarded in the Kingdom of God.
Keeping it a secret will have no chance for others to judge us, envy us, applaud us or compare with us. We should always give what we just have. Of course there is no way that we can give what we don’t have and we should not put the risk of having nothing for our families just because we would like to give. We should set our priorities by not giving too much to the extent that there will be nothing left for our family. It is really God’s commandment to give but God will understand that we need to set our priorities before we can give to others.
